Andrea Sirois’ professional practice involves creating public art installations, fine art prints for art collectors, as well as commercial and editorial work. She also teaches photography at Langara College in Vancouver, BC. She works with materials such as aluminum, flex-face, Plexiglas, wood, numerous papers, paint, and encaustic medium.
Artistically, Andrea leans towards non-traditional use of the camera, experimenting with slow shutter speeds, and camera panning techniques. “Paradoxically, the abstract qualities of this methodology appeals to me because the images produced are reminiscent of impressionistic paintings, rather than photographs.”
